quiet healings we do not talk about

its a weird time for me. checking out of life seconds at a time . digesting feelings abt my feelings. writing again because i realised i stopped. i think i know why i stopped too. exam season is always like this. i procrastinate until it's too late and suddenly i'm interested in everything but revising. i want to finally read all of marya hornbacher's other books other than 'wasted'. i'm currently finishing off junot diaz's 'the wondrous life of oscar wao'. drinking more green tea than ever except i got lazy and stopped using the leaves and now am going through boxes of twining green tea bags which isn't as good but like i said, i'm lazy. i'm trying to make money too, replying to random gigs on craigslist here and there and they should eventually amount to something. or at least enough. one i signed up for ended up being handing out leaflets at 3am in central london? (i turned that one down). i'm moving out next year.. i hope. mocks in 2 days and i haven't started revising. i should get on that. i'm glad summer's near but i'm scared to lose this life / teenagehood / moment.

3 am frances ha

i just re watched frances ha. there aren't a lot of movies i like enough to re watch but frances ha is. i am super in love with greta gerwig's character probably because i'm very similar to her. the movie is just so beautiful and flows so wonderfully. it makes me want to dance and cry at the same time. all i do now is watch movies on my macbook in the middle of night, always pausing to see if my parents are awake n will catch me. i have a very long to-watch list but i keep going back to my favourites...

lily pads and lamentation

above are some photos i took in shanghai. it was raining and there was a forest and a lake filled with lily pads and people shuffling around with their umbrellas.

i've started 6th form now which feels really different and liberating but with a lot more responsibility and hella more work. been listening to a lot of pop music this week and been doing a lot of online shopping on korean clothing sites. i'm learning to ride a bike atm (super late to the cycling party i know). need to get stationary for school and be organized. i'll probably go shopping at muji for that sometime this week. also trying to turn some of my non-finished poems into songs but i'm bad at melodies. my friend katie and i were gonna form a 2 man band called 'breakfast food' (name kinda inspired by parks and rec) but so far its gone nowhere. neither have our short film plans... i should follow through with those. i have so many ideas and projects happening soon/right now so i'm pretty excited for this school new yr. i hope it doesn't go to fast. only just hit me that i have 2yrs left before uni. don't know what i want 2 be. i want to be everything, i guess.

Short term 12

This movie is so beautiful and incredibly moving. It follows a foster-care facility for at-risk teenagers who are supervised by twenty year olds, showing both the perspective of the teenagers and their pasts and the effect of the teenagers on the supervisors. This indie film is interesting, dark and often humorous.
