Saw CocoRosie again on 30th Sept at Oval Space (some warehouse type place near shoreditch?!)! This time was better because I knew their songs properly and it was really beautiful and inspiring. Gravediggress was my favourite (AND OF COURSE WEREWOLF). I've realized that now 2 out of the 5 or 6 posts I've written on here has had CocoRosie in it oh well. Their lyrics are so interesting (Bianca's a poet soo...) and have so much depth and their melodies are enchanting. Wrote my english coursework about their concert - classic me ("Sophia you need to stop saying classic" says everyone I know). V art themed post probably because I've been doing a lot of painting and art coursework. For half term I plan to do even more. I should get my disposables from summer developed and some 120 film from last easter developed too oops. Will do that and get em all posted in a week or two. Will post some photos I've taken for art/other people/own pleasure. I tend to always blog when I have a test the next day. Tomorrow's biology test CANT WAIT.

P.S. Am I the only one who was disappointed with Bangerz (Miley's new album) after all the hype with her singles which I admit were pretty good and catchy?

P.P.S. want to do some photography of strangers on the street (sort of like Humans of New York kind of stuff) but just for fun. Seems scary. We'll see.

Happy to be off from school but my July days were slightly unfulfilled perhaps, seems scary to think it's already August. I'm closer to going back to school than I was from breaking up from school. I went to some amazing concerts in July though; Cocorosie (new obsession and p.s. I touched Sierra Casady's hand!!) who co-headlined with the wonderful Youth Lagoon, an artist I discovered last year who's song '17' was my anthem of when I was in the mountains of Switzerland in this idyllic chalet during February this year. I also saw Lianne La Havas, at Somerset House, who has the most beautiful voice and lyrics and is also a style goddess - when she sang 'Gone', I almost cried because of the truthful words and chilling voice which was even better live than on CD. Finally I went to see Frank Ocean, though a short concert, it did not cease to disappoint. He played a few new songs, my favourite being 'Wiseman' whose lyrics speak volumes.

On another note, I watched so many tv shows and movies in July. Was obsessed with the HBO tv show 'Girls' and binged watched season 1-2 in less than a week. It is my new favourite and am in love with all the characters. I really enjoyed Skins season 7 more than I thought I would, especially Skins Pure. I've missed Cassie and she hadn't really changed. It was really nicely made and the instrumental by Segal was so nice (see video above for the Mini Mix).

Off to Korea and Hong Kong now, will probably blog once when I'm abroad but will hopefully return with some pictures to post later. I'm excited. Might change the format of this blog and possibly the url and header, I change my mind a lot.

Finished my art exam this week, created a self portrait that looks slightly like me (note it is the mirror image of myself). Was a bit adventurous with the background. Don't know how to feel when I paint myself. In half term at the moment, don't want holidays to end sigh....

Ham factory visit, more like a horror movie location....

I went to Granada for a week during the Easter holidays  (though if you saw my suitcase, you'd have thought I was going for a month) to practise my Spanish with school. I fell in love with the weather, the cheap supermarket food and the "freedom". The first thing I bought a new pair of gold sunglasses (which you can see me wearing in a few on the photos above), and spent majority of my money on jewellery (every euro worth it). I hope to go back to Spain soon sometime. But right now, I've got to prepare for my exams which start... tomorrow. (Probably should be revising right now, not blogging!)
